Overview

mobile hotspot acts as a wireless access point and creates a WiFi network that can connect to any Wifi compatible device. This service is usually provided by cell phone companies as a small device.

Mobile Hotspot Interface

All mobile hotspots will have a different interface based on carrier and when it was manufactured. In this page, we will be using the latest MiFi hotspot from Verizon. This device has an on-off button, SIM card slot, and a charging port.

The hotspot interface will show all the information needed, including:

  • If WiFi is currently enabled
  • Number of devices connected to the hotspots WiFi network
  • Wi-Fi Name/Password
  • Data plan limit and cycle information
  • Cell Service Data Connection level
  • Battery Percentage
  • Menu - More device specific information and options

How to Get Mobile Hotspot WiFi Network Information

Locate the Wi-Fi Name/Password button and tap on it. This is normally located on the default home page of the hotspot, but it may be under the More Options or Menu buttons. This information is different for every hotspot.

There will now be the WiFi network name, and WiFi password on the screen. Verify connecting to the correct hotspot by looking for and referencing this WiFi network name listed.

When attempting to connect to the Mobile Hotspot, the WiFi network password listed here will be required. Make sure to use capital letters when they appear, and be careful of similar looking characters like the number ZERO and the letter O. This password should not change, but if password issues are happening, verify it is the correct one on the device.
